释义	【正字通】〈錦〉又姓。漢郎中令錦被。《釋名》錦金也。用工重者價如金故从金帛。按此說背理六書錦从金者言色似金有光采非價如金也。金部凡从金者非一如釫釭釳釵鉤鈴之類工少價輕豈以價重故从金。舊註引《釋名》非。《說文》錦載帛部襄邑織文。徐曰襄雜色也。漢魏郡襄縣能織錦綺因名襄邑。按。《儀禮》聘禮皆奉玉錦疏云孔子論玉言縝密以栗錦之纖縟類玉故云玉錦又。《李白詩》白鷴白如錦卽玉錦之義以此推之錦非必皆五色文也。
